Mr. Emmanuel Rouget is the nephew of Mr. Henri Jayet, who was hailed as the god of Burgundy wine. He has been teaching under Mr. Jayet since 1976 and has been making wine together. After Mr. Jayet retired, he was entrusted with everything from field management to brewing, and inherited most of the fields owned by Mr. Jayet. Mr. Rouget is seen as Mr. Jayet's true successor.



Among the fields that Mr. Jayet once owned, the one that is said to be the greatest and most magical is "Vosne Romanée Clos Palantou." Located on the slope directly above Richebourg, the field, which has a total area of ​​only 1.1 ha, is currently owned by only Mr. Rouget and Méo Camuzet, who had a metayage (share-profit cultivation) contract with Mr. Jayet. doing.



Mr. Rougier owns more than half of that, 0.7ha. This high altitude, well-ventilated field is made up of clay-calcareous soil with thin topsoil and many pebbles. The sweet, ripe grapes harvested here produce exceptional wines with rich minerality and firm acidity.
