The grapes are grown on a south-southwest facing slope at an elevation of 350-400m above sea level. The southwest facing vineyard faces the Tyrrhenian Sea, allowing for winds that reduce humidity. The soil is Gallescoro, consisting of layers of sandstone and clay, with abundant limestone. The Sangiovese undergoes alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28°C for 18 days, and then ages in French barriques, 20% of which is new, for 24 months before bottling. The wine is then released after 12 months of bottle aging.
