The origin of the name Cuvée comes from ``arteni,'' which refers to the pebble walls that once surrounded orchards in the Langhe region, and ``brassica,'' which refers to the small yellow flowers that bloom in the fields in spring.
The grapes are harvested in approximately 3.5 hectares of vineyards located in Barbaresco and Serralunga, facing west, northwest and east. Fermentation takes place over a period of approximately 4 weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 16-18°C, followed by 6 months of aging in barrique barrels, during which time malolactic fermentation also takes place.
Wonderful aromas of fresh, fresh lime, white flowers, and mint waft from the glass. A bright style with a burst of fresh fruit flavor in the mouth. It is also characterized by a very well-balanced balance of all elements, such as dignified acidity and fruit flavors. The lingering finish is multi-layered with complex nuances such as peach and white pepper, as well as mineral notes. This is a wonderful piece that expresses Gaya's house style.

The winery's name, ``Ca' Markanda,'' means ``House of Hopeless Bargaining'' in the Piedmontese dialect. The owner, Mr. Angelo Gaia, tried to negotiate with the owner many times in order to acquire the land, but all attempts were unsuccessful. After 18 rounds of negotiations, they finally received this long-awaited land. During the negotiations, Mr. Angelo Gaia said that his wife often asked him, ``Are you going to Ca Markanda (hopeless negotiation) again?'', so he named the winery ``Ca Markanda.''
