Currently, it is managed mainly by Eric Germain (Enolog) and Marco Casquera (Export and Sales). Eric is Vincent Girardin's winemaker and a key person involved in all aspects of winemaking. "New vision, approach"
Eric brought a new vision and approach to winemaking. Specifically, it means "traditional wine making". For example, previous Vincent Girardin wines were very rich and oaky. In contrast, Eric's new style is pure, elegant, and more complex wines. The proportion of new barrels is significantly reduced compared to when Vincent Girardin himself was making wine. At the same time, we lengthened the aging period. The aging period, which used to be as short as 10 to 12 months, has been extended to over two winters (approximately 18 months). Since two vintages are aged in barrels at the same time, of course we need twice as many barrels as before, and this process is actually very expensive. Therefore, the first few years were very expensive to invest. However, it was a necessary decision in order to realize the new vision that Eric brought to us.

In 1982, Vincent Girardin started making his own wine with a 2ha vineyard inherited from his parents. And he quickly achieves success. However, Vincent was very young at the time, in his early twenties, and did not have enough money to purchase fields even if he wanted to increase production. However, he did not like to buy wines that were a blend of grapes from different plots just to increase production. This is because I wanted to stick to the style of winemaking that I like.

So Vincent visits grape farmers he knows in the neighborhood and asks them, ``Would you let me buy the grapes instead of the wine?'' That's how we began making wine as a ``négociant winemaker,'' which is now a pioneer in Burgundy. Nowadays, many great domaines also make wine as négociant winemakers. As a result, places that used to call themselves ``Domaine 〇〇'', including famous domaines, are now labeled without the ``Domaine'' part.
