The soil is marl from the Eocene, with a red clay topsoil, and the field faces due south in a sunny location. The vineyard faces the Orcia River, providing an ideal, unobstructed environment. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks and cement tanks with glass coating on the inside. The vineyard is then transferred to 75hl Slavonian barrels for aging for over 36 months.
