Crewe is a Grade 1 vineyard newly acquired in 2017, and is an east-facing vineyard planted on a steep slope with pebbly clay limestone soil. The rich terroir provides plenty of deep juice with beautiful energy and a long finish, and even though it is the first vintage, it shows the full potential of the field.

An aromatic, deep and elegant scent of red fruits such as raspberry and currant. On the first sip, it is very delicate, with silky tannins that give it an elegant, velvety texture, reminiscent of the great Pinot Noir. Enjoy the exquisite taste that will surprise you with its high quality.

Domaine managed by Romanée-Conti's co-owners

Domaine de Vilaine was founded in 1971 by Mr. Aubert de Vilaine, a co-owner of the prestigious Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) in Burgundy. As a winery that discovered the uniqueness and charm of Aligoté and made it known to the world, its achievements have been praised by famous wine critics.

Established by a renowned brewer who is a partner in DRC
Domaine de Vilaine was founded in 1971 by renowned winemaker Aubert de Vilaine. Before taking over the management of DRC, Mr. de Vilaine established Domaine de Vilaine after receiving instructions from his father to ``own his own domaine and learn about domaine winemaking and management.'' Try your hand at making your own wine.

The village of Bouzeron, located in the northernmost part of the Côte Chalonnaise area outside the Côte d'Or, was chosen as the setting. At that time, AOC was not even allowed to be named after the village. When Mr. Vilaine discovered the compatibility between the local terroir and Aligoté and began making wonderful wine, his true value was immediately recognized, and in 1979, “Burgundy Aligoté de Bouzeron” was certified as an AOC. In 1997, “Bouzeron” was recognized as the only AOC of the Aligoté variety.

The achievements of Domaine de Vilaine have been highly praised by wine experts, and the French wine evaluation magazine ``The Fine Wine Reviews'' wrote, ``Aligote is a grape that is not understood, and I would like to say aloud how Mr. Vilaine has shown the world its potential.Although other producers grow Aligoté, no one can match the noble quality of this domaine. It doesn't matter.''

In this way, Domaine de Vilaine became widely known as a winery that introduced the uniqueness and charm of the Aligoté grape to the world. Currently, Mr. de Vilaine's nephew, Mr. Pierre de Benoit, is the main producer of wine.
