The 1991 vintage was hit by a severe frost on the night of April 20th and 21st. Pomerol and Saint-Émilion suffered particularly severe damage, but the quality improved the further north you went in the Médoc. Latour's terroir, located close to the Gironde River, protected it from the frost, allowing for the harvest of healthy, ripe grapes, resulting in a good vintage.

It has a complex aroma of dried fruit, leather, and tobacco, as well as firm tannins and a variety of flavors.
