The Mascot Story (as told by Will Harlan)
As a child, I played in Harlan's fields, picked grapes with my hands, and ate grapes straight from the vine.
<br>I grew up eating it, but I never thought that making wine would actually be my passion.
As you all know, my family, the Harlan Family, has been making great wines for many years.
I'm still new to this business, but I've been interested in it for a few years now.
I never expected this to be the catalyst that led me to enter the wine industry.
It has been officially released since 2008, and since 2012, we have been involved in the harvest, winemaking, and blending process.
I started my own experience with the Harlan team. At the beginning of this project, the Harlan family
Among the wines produced by Harlan, we select some barrels of wine from young vines that will not be released as Harlan, but will be sold.
With the guidance of the Harlan team, I would blend my own drinks and enjoy them with family and friends.
There was no name or label, but in 2008 the name and label were decided and the wine was officially released.
Starting in 2020, as part of the Harlan Group's 200th anniversary plan, Harlan will offer a service that improves in quality every year.
Bond and Promontory produce The Mascot from young vines up to 15 years old, and
Furthermore, we have strictly selected the top-quality wines for each category, and we also offer other high-quality wines.
Blended with The Mascot, it has evolved into a wine that supports the Harlan Group from the very foundation.
Its role has been clarified and its price has been revised.
The 2015 vintage was expected to have a very low yield due to sparse fruit set caused by a cool spring.
The mild summer and warm autumn allowed the grapes to ripen early, so the harvest started early.
It took more than a month to finish harvesting all the fields, and the harvest was tailored to the unique characteristics of each field.

Harlan Estate
A great figurehead who raised the status of California wine.
Harlan Estate is a successful real estate business, and Mr. Bill Harlan, who runs the magnificent resort called Meadowood in Napa Valley, said, ``We will produce California wine from Oakville that rivals France's first-class Médoc chateaus.'' was established in 1984 with the vision: At that time, it was common knowledge in Napa Valley to grow grapes on flat land, but after 15 years of land selection and steady research and investigation, we cleared 97 ha of land in the hills west of Oakville, and we settled on a plot of land 68 to 374 meters above sea level. Terraced fields were created along the contour lines of the north- and northeast-facing slopes. The soil is covered with crushed rock called Franciscan shale, 1/3 is sedimentary soil, and 2/3 is volcanic soil. The soil is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon in locations suitable for each variety. 8% Franc and 2% Petit Verdot are planted.
The wine director is Bob Levy, the consultant is Michel Rolland, the vineyard manager is Mary Ma, and the winemaker is Corey Empting, who have remained the same members for 30 years since the company's founding. I'm working on wine. By conducting scientific research while incorporating European traditions and techniques, they rapidly succeeded in narrowing the quality gap in winemaking with Europe. With a winery and underground cellar that combine the latest technology, the winery has produced great wines that combine tradition and innovation since its first vintage in 1990.
