The Arbegneiss mountain range is home to deep soils of granite and gneiss called "Gneisse". The grapes are whole bunches, not crushed or destemmed, and are macerated for 7 days in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 1 month in demi-muid barrels.
The color is a vivid ruby. The aroma of red berries and the pleasant spiciness of Syrah. The juicy plum-like fruitiness that spreads in the mouth is firmly supported by minerals and acidity, giving the wine a refreshing feel. It is a very difficult task to make such a cool wine in Roussillon! This wine is the true essence of Jean-François Nic. It has a transparency that fits the body easily, and is easy to drink without getting tired!
This is Jean-François Nick's "mirror of the vintage" and the earliest cuvée to be released. In France, it is named "Octobre" because it is released in October. Incidentally, the name of the Fleur Rouge wine is inspired by the title of a movie. Octobre comes from the movie "The Hunt for Red October" released in 1990.
This is a popular wine every year as it reflects the taste of each vintage. It is a wonderful wine that far surpasses the quality of en primeur wines.
