Darkest Old Bottle・Bowmore

Currently, a Darkest whisky labeled 15 years old is being released, and although it is also aged in sherry casks, the taste is slightly different.

Darkest is aged for over 12 years in bourbon barrels and then for over 2 years in sherry casks.
Another unique feature of Warehouse No. 1 is that it is located along the coast, so close to the waves that the barrels are sprayed over it, and some barrels are below sea level at high tide, so it is likely to be heavily influenced by Islay's tides.

As the name "Darkest" suggests, it has a very dark color. The peat aroma is not overpowering, and the balance between the sweet aroma of sherry, smokiness, and salty notes is pleasant. Many Bowmores from this period had a strong, negative, cosmetic-like perfume aroma, but Darkest has a masking effect, perhaps, from the sherry casks? I think it's well-balanced, with raisins, dark chocolate, salted caramel, and other notes, without a particularly strong perfume aroma.
