Comte Georges de Vogue

A prestigious producer from the village of Chambolle-Musigny, supported by a rich history and with gem fields.

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is an object of admiration for Burgundy lovers who seek the finest Burgundy wines. He is one of the great winemakers in Chambolle-Musigny, with a reputation so famous that everyone knows his name.

The Domaine that produces wines that Burgundy lovers crave
Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of the largest Domaines in Chambolle-Musigny, which is said to produce the most delicate and elegant wines in Burgundy. The history of the Domaine dates back to 1450, and it was in 1925 that Count Georges de Vogüé, whose name the Domaine bears today, inherited it.



Currently, the Domaine is owned by Count Vogüé's granddaughters, but the operation is managed by three people: François Mie, the winemaker, Eric Bourgogne, the vineyard manager, and Jean-Luc Pépin, the sales manager. François Mie retired at the end of 2021, and is now succeeded by Jean Lepatelli.



They own 7.2 hectares, which is 70% of the plots in the famous Grand Cru Musigny vineyard. Bonnes Mares also owns 2.7 hectares, the largest vineyard in this climat, and Les Amoureuses, with 0.56 hectares, making them some of the most representative vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny.



The winery went through a period of decline from the 1960s to the mid-1980s, but under the direction of François Mie (pictured right), who became head winemaker in 1986, the winery rose to prominence like a phoenix. The reforms he implemented included reducing production and changing the winemaking method to suit the conditions of the year. He also reduced the proportion of new oak barrels used in the Grand Cru wines to maximize the "elegance" of Chambolle-Musigny, allowing the grapes to have their natural flavor.



The result has been a steady stream of wines of outstanding quality, producing some of the greatest wines in Burgundy and of unmatched quality.
