Port Nova is made from unpeated malt spirits aged in new American oak barrels and bourbon barrels.
After blending, it is aged in port barrels and finally in bourbon barrels.

The name is derived from the town of Port Nova in Tamil Nadu, which was a Portuguese colony from the 16th to 18th centuries.
