Jean-Marie Fourier, the owner of the prestigious Domaine Fourier in Gevrey-Chambertin, acquired 7.5 hectares of vineyards from Domaine Comtes de Chapelle and will be producing this new wine starting in 2022. Jean-Marie Fourier personally cultivates, vinifies, and bottles this Vignes Comtes de Chapelle, following the same winemaking philosophy as Domaine Fourier, minimizing intervention and crafting wines that reflect the terroir.
This wine is made from Chardonnay vines planted in 1986. The grapes are from the Sous-la-Velle, Les Grands-Chalons, and Le Buisson-Certeau plots, and up to 20% of the oak is new. It is bottled unfiltered.
The aromas of toasted almonds and exotic fruits spread throughout the wine. The rich minerality typical of Meursault is felt, and the wine has a smooth texture, excellent structure and a long finish. This wine exudes refined elegance.
