Beaune Les Chardonnereux Qvevris 2020

The harvest date was September 1, 2020. The yield was 40hL/ha. The vineyard was taken over by the son of Fred's friend, who has been managing it organically for the past three years. The south-facing vineyard is characterized by early ripening of the grapes. Maceration took place in wooden barrels for 25 days, and wild yeast was used for fermentation. The wine was aged for 12 months in 14hL Georgian qvevri and for 3 months in stainless steel tanks.

The aroma of ripe blueberries and dark cherries is layered with rose petals and violets. The wine is tranquil, elegant, and fresh with a refined body, and the concentrated flavor of the fruit is beautifully blended with the astringent taste of fine-grained tannins!
