The appearance is a dark and deep ruby color. When poured into a glass, fresh aromas of blackberry and blueberry emerge. In addition, flavors of acacia, dried flowers, and spices appear, making it elegant and complex. Silky tannins spread across the palate, conveying a high degree of ripeness, and are in harmony with juicy fruit flavors. The refreshing acidity brings the whole thing together, and the elegant lingering finish is appealing. This is a piece that perfectly expresses the individuality of both indigenous and international varieties.

The winery's name, ``Ca' Markanda,'' means ``House of Hopeless Bargaining'' in the Piedmontese dialect. The owner, Mr. Angelo Gaia, tried to negotiate with the owner many times in order to acquire the land, but all attempts were unsuccessful. After 18 rounds of negotiations, they finally received this long-awaited land. During the negotiations, Mr. Angelo Gaia said that his wife often asked him, ``Are you going to Ca Markanda (hopeless negotiation) again?'', so he named the winery ``Ca Markanda.''
