Hart Brothers 1996 16 Years・Bowmore

Ian Hart, the eldest of the Hart brothers, worked for Richard Patterson's father's company, W.R. Patterson, until the late 1950s. Together with his third son, Donald, the two founded Ian G. Hart, the predecessor of today's Hart Brothers, in 1962.
The second son, Alistair, worked as a blender at Whyte & Mackay until 1975, before joining his brothers' company in 1976. In 1988, with the retirement of the eldest son, Ian, the company changed its name to the current Hart Brothers Ltd. and adopted its current style of focusing on single malts.

Bowmore, the "Queen of Islay," was founded in 1779.
It is well known that the Bowmore distillery, located in the center of the island of Islay off the west coast of Scotland, is influenced by sea breezes in both the peat and malting processes, and that the first warehouse faces directly onto the sea, at 0 meters above sea level.
This Bowmore was distilled in 1996 after Suntory acquired it and is aged for 16 years. Bottled about 10 years ago, this Bowmore has become quite valuable in recent years as Bowmores distilled in the 1990s have become increasingly popular.
