Bowmore, the "Queen of Islay," was founded in 1779. Located in the heart of the island of Islay off the west coast of Scotland, the Bowmore distillery is well known for its peat and malting processes, which are influenced by the sea breeze. Furthermore, its first warehouse faces the sea directly, at sea level.

The Glasgow Garden Festival is a major local event in Glasgow that began in 1988 and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2018.
This decanter is a special bottling commemorating the first event in 1988, and the Bowmore 1970s spirit, distilled in 1973, is now difficult to obtain.
This is a now rare bottle, carefully selected from the distillery's treasured stock.
A very fruity Bowmore with striking notes of white chocolate and melon-like tropical fruits distilled in the 1970s.
Although it does not come close to the tropical fruit flavors of the 1960s distillations, the tropical fruit aroma of this Bowmore is undoubtedly a taste that could only be achieved by the 1970s.
