Benjamin Leroux

Benjamin is an extremely talented winemaker. He will be starting his first vintage of Benjamin Leroux in 2007 as his own négociant in a building he shares with Dominique Lafon, right near the Beaune intersection.

He buys red and white grapes exclusively and does not buy them in barrels. We are particular about grape cultivation, visiting the fields many times and collaborating with growers to achieve the ideal cultivation method and thoroughly restricting the use of pesticides. More than 60% of the field is Rutt Raisonné, and the rest is Biologic. We also obtain a small amount of grapes from the fields of the biodynamic domaine (Auxay Durres).

It is also characterized by being adjacent to vineyards of higher quality than the appellation, and being able to obtain extremely high quality grapes from similar soil substrates. Since he learned much about winemaking at Château Cos d'Istournel in Bordeaux, the wines he makes are perfect.

It is a frontier spirit that faithfully expresses the individuality of the appellation while being a négociant. Benjamin Leroux is looking forward to seeing how the wines he makes will develop in the future.
