Messorio Macchiole 2019

Le Macchiole's stunning Messorio 2019 is made exclusively from Merlot, from a special 2.5 hectare plot in a classic mix of Bolgheri soils, characterized by clay, silt, sandstone and limestone. The wine is fermented in concrete tanks and aged for 18 months in new barriques. Speaking of Merlot, owner Cinzia Merli acknowledges that this early-ripening grape has suffered the most due to the effects of climate change. However, the winemaking team has made a special effort to achieve balance and elegance. This beautiful wine unfolds with aromas of cherry, blue flowers, iris root, crushed stone and slate. Balanced oak tones add power and texture to the full-bodied finish. 11,000 bottles.
