The mild winter with little rainfall led to budbreak more than 10 days earlier than average, but a late frost arrived in mid-April, causing damage to grape growers across Italy. However, Salvioni was not affected due to the Montalcino region's high altitude and active air circulation. The summer was extremely hot with little rain, raising concerns that the grapes would be stressed, but the temperature difference between day and night allowed the grapes to grow healthily. Blessed rain fell from the end of August to early September, allowing for the harvest in good condition. The wine is highly concentrated and has a rich, sweet flavor of ripe fruit. While it can be enjoyed relatively soon after opening, it retains Salvioni's signature "distinctive, rich flavor."
