Barolo Annunziata Riserva・ACCOMASSO・2013

Located in La Morra, this winery is run by Lorenzo Accomasso. It produces approximately 12,000 bottles per year. It produces Barolo, Dolcetto, and a small amount of Barbera from vines over 80 years old. All grapes undergo extended maceration (over 50 days in some years for Nebbiolo), and Barolo is aged for extended periods in large barrels, leading to a release one year later than other winemakers. The wine adheres to a classic style. Due to its price and quality, the majority of the wine produced is purchased by regular customers from Switzerland and Germany who have been with the winery for 10-20 years, making it difficult (almost impossible) to obtain even in Italy. This Barolo is known only to those in the know.
