As the name "Darkest" suggests, it is a very dark tone. The peat scent is not overpowering, and the balance between the sweet sherry scent, smokiness, and saltiness is pleasant. Many of the Bowmores from around this time had a strong, negative perfume-like scent similar to that of cosmetics, but I wonder if Darkest is due to the masking effect of the sherry barrels? I think it's a nice combination of raisins, dark chocolate, salted caramel, etc. without feeling like a particularly strong perfume.
