(The following is from the importer's materials) Black fruits, cassis juice, cherries, peppers, fresh wood, and a luxurious, milky aroma. The texture is strong and dignified. The tannins are still very tight, almost dry, but will be polished towards the end of aging. This wine has a robust flavor and a generous finish that rounds out the last part of the palate. You can expect it to be a perfect wine by the end of aging.

Clos les Lunelles

A chateau in the Côte de Castillon that underwent reforms and rapidly developed its taste.

Clos Lunel is a wine made in Castillon Cote de Bordeaux by Gerard Perse of Château Pavie, which was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classe A in Saint-Émilion. It is now inherited by his son-in-law, Enrique da Costa. Previously, it was called Clos Les Lunels, but in 2009 it was changed to Clos Lunels and started being released.

Clos Lunel was born when Perse renamed Château Laperronie, which he purchased in early 2001. Prior to Mr. Perce's acquisition, Laperronie was a brewery that produced and supplied the raw material wine for Baron Philippe de Rothschild's casual wine, Mouton Cadet. However, when Mr. Pers saw a field with soft clay soil containing many pebbles on a south-facing slope, he was captivated by its wonderful terroir and decided to start producing Clos Lunel, which was originally filled with chateau.

In general, Côte de Castillon wine has a relatively low market price among Bordeaux wines, and many producers have inevitably increased their yields and production volumes to increase sales. Mr. Pels made a challenging investment by severely limiting yields and extending the ripening period. As a result, world-famous critic Robert Parker has succeeded in producing wine of excellent quality, calling it ``the best Castillon I have ever encountered.''
