The first vintage was 1982. The most prestigious Cru Ginestra, located on the eastern slopes of Monforte, is split into two sites, but this Barolo is made from grapes from the Ginestra site on the southeast-facing slopes at 400-450m above sea level. The aromas of ripe, dark plum, violets, sweet spices, and minerals are layered, followed by concentrated, deep fruit and thick, smooth tannins. This is a powerful, austere, masculine Barolo.
